The Underground Training Coordinator reports to the Training Manager.

• Responsible for the overall training program Underground, including Mine Operations and Mine Maintenance.
• Lead the Underground Training Team.
• Coordinate resources and collaborate with stakeholders to fulfill training needs.
• Identification and analysis of training needs.
• Assist in and ensure development, design, implementation, maintenance, delivery and documentation of training programs, including liaising with external agencies for certifications.
• Evaluate departmental training programs, monitor employee performance, and data reporting.
• Coordinate and conduct theoretical and practical training.
• Utilize various systems and programs, including the Learning Management System, Safety Culture, ETQ, ORACLE, etc.
• Collaborate and support within the Training Team.
• Aid in and support the training and development of employees.

• Superior interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills are essential.
• Demonstrate positive safety behavior and safety leadership.
• Good organizational skills.
• Supervisor certification, or the ability to obtain required supervision certificate. Previous supervisor experience would be an asset.
• 4-6 years of mining and/or training experience would be an asset.
• Knowledge of OH&S Regulations and other safety requirements would be an asset.
• Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Office would be an asset.
• Hands on knowledge of machinery and equipment used underground would be an asset.
• A degree/diploma or certificate in Adult Education, Education, Safety or other related field would be an asset.
• Willingness to develop training related skills and knowledge aligned with current adult learning principles and training techniques.
