Assist Summer Day Camp Director with planning, organizing, and execution of the summer day camp program for children ages 5 to 12. Assist with other duties as needed or assigned.
Summer camp is held Monday-Friday 7:30am-6pm 06/08/2026-07/17/2026. All candidates are expected to be able to work varying hours during these dates.

Responsibilities- Arriving at camp on time each day ready and prepared to perform all camp staff functions and responsibilities
- Assist Summer Day Camp Director with:
- Supervising camp counselors
- Supervising campers
- Monitoring supplies and equipment
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records pertaining to participants and staff
- Opening and closing duties as scheduled
- Planning, leading, implementing, and preparing supplies for camp activities
- Checking campers in and dismissing them to their approved pick-up person
- Addressing issues as they arise
- Being a positive role model to the children
- Providing an enjoyable experience for each camper
- Checking group attendance each morning and frequently throughout the day
- Contacting parents of campers as needed during camp to maintain good public relations
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Experience in a leadership capacity
- Experience supervising or working with children
- Ability to establish an effective working relationship with parents, employees, and the general public
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred. CPR/First Aid Training will be available prior to camp start date if needed.
- Valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina. Possession of a commercial driver's license with P or S endorsement considered a plus.
This position is a safety sensitive position and subject to random substance abuse testing in accordance with the Pender County Personnel Policy and Risk Policy. This work requires occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires sitting and occasionally requires standing, walking, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions;
work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. parks).
