Position Overview
The Western Carolina University Athletics Department is seeking an Athletics Assistant Director of Video Operations to create and produce video content and digital media. The position reports to the Director of Video Operations and the Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations.
Responsibilities- Produce live video streams of home WCU athletic events and coach shows.
- Collaborate with the full‑time video production workforce (staff, student, temporary/part‑time).
- Manage inventory of video production equipment.
- Assist the Director of Marketing with production of in‑arena video board content for football and university events.
- Work with the Director of Creative Content to develop online multimedia initiatives (previews, highlights, features).
- Create digital media (video promos, graphic design elements) to support ticketing, marketing, fundraising and overall operations.
- Legal U.S. work eligibility without employer sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s degree in broadcast, video production, communication, media, sport management or related field.
- At least one year of experience in live video production or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of sports and video production (cameras, editing, production techniques).
- Experience producing game‑day video content and directing/producing live events.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and Adobe Creative Suite (Audition, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Familiarity with Ross Video switchers, Ross Xpressions graphics and Daktronics video scoreboards.
