Anesthesiologist - Columbus Regional Healthcare System - Per Diem
Location: Whiteville, NC, a family-oriented community.
Description: Per Diem Anesthesiologist opportunity at Columbus Regional Healthcare System (CRHS) in Whiteville, NC. Founded in 1935, CRHS is a not‑for‑profit healthcare system with a modern 154‑bed facility dedicated to high‑quality care. The anesthesia department is part of a collaborative care team model that emphasizes teamwork, respect, and excellence.
Case AssignmentsGeneral, pediatric, vascular, robotic, urologic, orthopedic, and gynecologic surgery.
ShiftsTBD.
Team- Leadership:
William Obrecht, MD - Team consists of four anesthesiologists and seven CRNAs working together in a care team model.
- Our model focuses on giving everyone a voice while supporting, respecting, and helping them to deliver care excellence.
- Assist in directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department.
- Medical management of patients rendered unconscious or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures.
- Perform pre‑anesthesia assessment.
- Obtain and/or verify patient consent.
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient.
- Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
- Monitor the patient’s physiological condition.
- Perform clinical interventions as needed.
- M.D./D.O. degree from an accredited college of medicine.
- ECFMG and FLEX certification.
- Completion of an approved residency in anesthesia.
- Current physician license.
- Small community with warm climate and family‑oriented lifestyle.
- Approximately one hour from Myrtle Beach and the port city of Wilmington; two hours from Raleigh.
- Lively downtown with unique shops and restaurants.
- Outdoor recreation opportunities including kayaking, boating, and fishing on Lake Waccamaw.
- Area attractions:
North Carolina Pecan Harvest Festival, North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. - Colleges and schools:
Southwestern Community College, Whiteville City Schools, Columbus Christian Academy, Carolina Adventist Academy.
- $275 per hour.
