Position SummaryThe School of Nursing at Western Carolina University is seeking applicants for a 12-month, tenure track Assistant Professor position as the Family Nurse Practitioner Program Coordinator. Anticipated start date will be August 1, 2026. The primary location of this position is on the main Cullowhee, NC campus. The primary coordinator responsibilities include coordinating the graduate FNP program, advising students, curriculum development, and clinical experience development, coordinate and teach courses in FNP major and related programs as appropriate.
Expectations of this position include online and face to face teaching of courses. Western Carolina University has adopted the Boyer Model of Scholarship to support its commitment to integrated learning, the scholarship of engagement, and the stewardship of place.
- Coordinate the graduate FNP program.
- Advise students and participate in curriculum development.
- Develop clinical experiences and coordinate related coursework.
- Teach courses in the FNP major and related programs, including online and face-to-face formats.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Family Nurse Practitioner Certification
- Eligibility for RN licensure in NC
- Doctorate in nursing or related field from an accredited institution
Preferred Qualifications:
- Administrative experience
- PMHNP Certification
