White Mountains Community College (WMCC) / Great Bay Community College – Diesel Heavy Equipment Technology Faculty (Instructor / Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor). Full-time, available 01/08/26. Annual salary: $49,383-$77,041 (determined by faculty level to which assigned).
Scope of WorkTo educate students in the Diesel Heavy Equipment Technology Program and to participate in departmental and institutional activities that support the mission of the college. This position reports to the Department Chair of the Industry and Transportation Department at WMCC.
Accountabilities- Teaches program-related courses in classroom, online, and/or laboratory settings (e.g., Hydraulics I, Hydraulics II, Failure Analysis, Heavy Duty Chassis Brake and Climate Control Systems, and other courses as assigned).
- Develops instructional materials that integrate theory with applications, outlines course goals and requirements, and complies with course content standards.
- Maintains accessible support for diverse learning needs and monitors student progress and records accurately.
- Participates in departmental activities, maintains equipment and spaces, and supports articulation with business and industry.
- Engages in college-sponsored recruitment and retention activities and participates in advisory and outreach efforts.
- Remains current in the field through professional activities and uses instructional technologies as required.
- Demonstrates ethical and professional behavior and serves on college or system committees as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in mechanical technology, automotive technology, engineering, business, education, or related discipline. If the degree is in education, an Associate’s degree in mechanical technology, automotive technology, engineering, or closely related discipline is required.
- Experience: Three years of teaching experience in the diesel heavy equipment technology field or three years of business or industry experience related to heavy equipment mechanics.

Five years of teaching or industry experience as above. - Recommended Work Traits: Knowledge of teaching methods and materials; ability to work with others; ability to maintain records; professional attitude; appropriate appearance.
- License/Certification: Valid driver’s license. Preferred:
Valid commercial driver’s license; experience in hydraulics system application and diagnostics.
