Experience a summer “Where Adventure Grows!” Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines seeks dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to be part of our 2026 Summer Camp Team supporting our overnight camp programs across all Council properties:
Camp Mary Atkinson, Camp Graham, Camp Hardee, and Camp Mu-Sha-Ni.

We are seeking a Waterfront Consultant to support our overnight camp program at Camp Mary Atkinson. This position may also support smaller program groups operating at Camp Graham, Camp Hardee, and Camp Mu-Sha-Ni throughout the summer. Transportation will be provided from Camp Mary Atkinson to the other camp properties as needed.
Position: Waterfront Consultant
Location: Camp Mary Atkinson, Selma, NC (with travel to other Council camps as needed)
Duration: Summer 2026 (mid-May through the end of July)
Compensation: Hourly rate of $25.00 per hour, including housing and meals after training.
We’re excited to offer summer camp staff the opportunity to earn up to a $500 bonus this summer!
Here’s how it works- $250 Mid-Summer Bonus: Camp staff hired for the summer who remain employed through the end of June will receive a $250 bonus.
- $250 Completion Bonus: Camp staff who remain employed through the end of summer camp will receive a $250 bonus.
- Supervise Campers and Staff: Serves as a resource for on-site camp waterfront staff and is an expert on waterfront policies and procedures. Train staff in their aquatic responsibilities. Supervise aquatic staff to provide a safe and high-quality program.
- Plan & Lead
Activities:
Assists/trains the Waterfront Director (and their team), and guides and teaches them the roles and responsibilities of their job. Teach and monitor the proper use of equipment. - Create Memories: Provide regular support to waterfront staff onsite through phone calls and by being on-site weekly as scheduled and needed. Help make this summer unforgettable for campers—and for yourself!
- Manage Facilities and Equipment: Check equipment and make (or file for) repairs. Submit orders for equipment and supplies when needed, ensuring timely arrival of materials. Conduct initial and end-of-season inventory, and store equipment for safety.

RequirementsApplicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment Visas at this time.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Previous experience or knowledge of residential camping.
- Current certification in ARC first aid and CPR for Professional Rescuers or the ability to obtain certification (training provided).
- Current certification in ARC Lifeguarding or the ability to obtain certification.
- Lifeguarding Instructor Certification
- Watercraft Safety Training
- WSI
- Prior experience in the development and delivery of recreational programs.
- Experience in supervising others in an aquatics setting
- Must have a North Carolina Boating License (or be able to obtain one)
- Commitment to the aims and purpose of the Girl Scout movement.
