The Process Engineer is responsible for process optimization, documentation, and implementation. The successful candidate will improve business processes, increase efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability, and maximize profitability.
This position will have access to every aspect of our business and manufacturing operations (Finance, Logistics, Planning, Category Management, Farm Operations, etc.). The role will support projects relating to productivity improvements, capacity utilization analysis, cost analysis, time studies, process flow and documentation, variation analysis, quality control, KPI execution, and overall operating cost reductions.
Responsibilities- Support and lead project initiatives that drive financial improvement to business metrics by developing project charters, Gantt charts, and lead implementations from the beginning to systematic execution.
- Designs, redesigns, or optimize work flows, reduce repetitive motions and to ensure inefficient operations reduced or eliminated.
- Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods, and trends and developments in technology and equipment; applies this knowledge to maintain the organization’s competitive edge.
- Maintains and communicates a series of KPIs that highlight improvements, opportunities for resource management, daily/weekly direction setting.
- Establish quality control guidelines from the production process.
- Develops, installs, and maintains equipment to complete the production process.
- Lean manufacturing implementations.
- Identifies and assesses various problems and departures from established manufacturing standards and best practices; researches and recommends solutions.
- Develops and maintains management information, planning, and control systems.
- Implements methods and modifications to reduce production costs.
- Trains employees to carry out and sustain process improvement changes to utilize resources effectively.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
- Experience in lean manufacturing (preferred but not required)
- At least one year of engineering experience required.
- Standing, Walking, Sitting:
Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit throughout the day. - Reach, Bend, Stoop:
Frequently required to reach, bend, and stoop. - Use of Hands:
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. - Lifting:
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. - Balance:
May be required to maintain balance, especially when walking or working on elevated surfaces.
- Team member will be working in operational areas including production process, greenhouses, nurseries, outdoor growing areas and shipping docks and office settings.
