About ECU Health Chowan Hospital
ECU Health Chowan Hospital in Edenton is a 25-bed critical access hospital that provides programs and services to 110,000 people in six counties. The facility offers medical and surgical services, including intensive care, a specialty care clinic and a dedicated outpatient surgery area with endoscopy capabilities. A 7-bed emergency department serves approximately 15,000 patients per year, and team members have access to a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
PositionSummary
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is a credentialed medical professional with academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The scope of practice includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law for which the individual has received education, clinical experience and completed ARDMS or ARRT (US) registration, which is the standard of practice in Ultrasound.
$7,500 Sign-On Bonus for eligible candidates.
Minimum Requirements- High school or equivalent (or higher)
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current ARDMS or ARRT (US) registration required (physics and one specialty exam AB, OB/GYN)
- 2 years of experience as US technologist (sonographer)

Shift: Day- Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
- Call after hours and weekends shared with other technologists.

This position is listed as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer II, but based on the minimum requirements that are met, the candidate of choice will be hired as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer I, II, III or IV.
