Respiratory Therapist
Overview
The Respiratory Therapist in the Respiratory Care Services department encompasses responsibility for administering respiratory care within the scope of their practice under a physician's order including, but not limited to, all types of oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECG's and mechanical ventilation of adult/geriatric patients. The Therapist plans, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of therapy, with communication to the physician and health care team.
The Therapist understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, vision, and values in the management of patient care.
Requirements include:
Adult Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
Neonatal/Peds Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program.

LicensureRegistered Respiratory Therapist and NC Respiratory Care Practitioner are required.
EducationAssociate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy is required.
Experience1 Year of clinical experience in Respiratory Therapy is required, with experience in Emergency/Trauma preferred.
