How You’ll Contribute

  • Administers radiopharmaceuticals and medications for patient imaging and therapeutic procedures.
  • Processes data and enhances digital images using advanced computer technology.
  • Provides images, data analysis and patient information for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic procedures.
  • Evaluates images to determine the technical quality and calibration of instrumentation.
  • Processes the images for radiologist review.

Required Licensure

  • Registered ARRT Radiologic Technologist – RT(R)
  • AND/OR
  • NMTCB or Registered ARRT Nuclear Medicine – RT(N)

Essential Functions

  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Prepares preliminary paperwork for final interpretation by the cardiologist.
  • Performs exercise, pharmaceutical, and echo stress tests.
  • Recognizes chest pain, arrhythmias with stress testing. Responds/obtains appropriate and immediate assistance as needed.
  • Monitors, receives, and stocks stress lab supplies.
  • Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment as needed.
  • Troubleshoots minor problems, makes adjustments as needed during the procedure and prepares recordings for interpretation.
  • Collects and/or reviews pertinent medical, historical, and medication information in order to perform the appropriate study prescribed by the physician.
  • Assists with computerized charting, MUSE, and Paragon.
  • Assists with activities to improve department processes, facilitate testing, and maintain quality to achieve optimal patient results.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should have an Associate’s Degree, be a graduate of an approved course in Nuclear Medicine Technology, and one or more years of experience in Nuclear Medicine with a Nuclear Medicine registration. Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Licenses:
Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist by NMTCB if not grandfathered by the state.
