Child and Family Therapist - Bridging Families (Smoky Region)
Crossnore Communities for Children is seeking a licensed mental health counselor, social worker or marriage and family therapist to provide client‑centered, trauma‑informed therapy for children and families enrolled in the Bridging Families and Bridging Futures programs in the Smoky Mountain Region of North Carolina. This is a full‑time position (9‑10 hours per week) requiring travel within the region.
CompensationBase salary: $53,000.00 / yr – $68,000.00 / yr
. Hiring range $53,000–$68,000 K annually, plus a $3,000 sign‑on bonus.
Salary details by license level:
- Associate‑licensed: $53,000 annually (unless additional experience).
- Fully licensed: $60,000 – $68,000 annually.

- Knowledge of evidence‑based therapeutic practices.
- Passion for working with youth and families in child welfare.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with families, coworkers, and community partners.
- Ability to work collaboratively on diverse teams and navigate cultural dynamics.
- Proficiency in documentation and compliance with health record standards.
- Flexibility, creativity, resilience.
- Provide individualized and family therapy for Bridging Families clients, focusing on reunification and permanency.
- Implement the Bridging Families treatment approach; conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, deliver therapy aligned with evidence‑based practices.
- Lead client staffings, attend treatment team meetings, and provide clinical oversight.
- Be available for on‑call rotations and crisis support.
- Participate in program development, committee work, community projects, and referral services.
- Ensure accurate, timely documentation, billing, reauthorizations, and session notes.
- Maintain positive, problem‑solving communication with clients, colleagues, and partners.
- Participate in training and education for staff and clients.
- Handle potential client hostility or violence; follow workplace safety procedures.
This position requires a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends and participation in an on‑call rotation.
