Infrastructure Delivery Manager III, DCC Communities

Overview

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast paced technology company and a leader in data centers. We are expanding our infrastructure management team within AWS and seek a proven technology manager with experience in people management, robust technical understanding, and the drive to advance AWS Data Center Operations. The successful candidate will create sustainable processes and standards and drive automation opportunities to reduce delivery cycle times and improve quality without impacting network availability.

The mission of the team is to deliver network capacity on time with zero rework. The Infrastructure Delivery Manager will manage the implementation and delivery of inbound capacity and equipment, grow and oversee the team, mentor staff, track budgets, provide strategic direction, and propose technical solutions. This role is responsible for installing and delivering network equipment and related infrastructure, as well as driving low voltage structured cabling across the AWS data center platform.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the services they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and are looking for talented people to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest safety and security standards while providing scalable capacity at the lowest possible cost. • Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators, manage projects, coach, and create documentation.
• Manage inbound capacity from receiving through deployment stages.
• Oversee installation of network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment.
• Guide, train, and educate staff on best practices related to service owner issues.
• Manage tasks and deliverables across small to large-size projects.
• Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and SLAs.
• Provide weekly reports to the data center manager.
• Coordinate team resources to support project and delivery needs, including emergency projects, change management, maintenance windows, and potential off-hours or on-call needs.
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Host weekly staff meetings and drive compliance with performance management requirements.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of operations management experience.
• Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent.
• Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Experience in technical work related to computer systems and technology components.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Experience with system management tools and client/server environments.
• Experience in computer architecture or general hardware troubleshooting/debugging.
• Travel up to 20% of the time.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage workload during periods of stress or escalation.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package may include sign-on payments and RSUs. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
