• Operate industrial sewing machines to join pre-cut and upholstery pieces; align pieces to preserve grain and/or pattern.
• Adjust machines to stitch various types of fabrics; make minor repairs to assigned machines.
• Complete daily paperwork to track rejects, units completed, or other documentation as required.
• Inspect parts during assembly and upon completion to ensure compliance with established product quality criteria.
• Maintain order and cleanliness using 5S principles.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and training to less experienced team members.
• Report any equipment or safety concerns immediately to ensure a safe work environment.

• Education/
  
  Experience:
  
  High School diploma or equivalent, or work experience demonstrating performance competency.
• 10+ years of experience sewing in a manufacturing/production environment, preferably in high-end contract furniture.
• Skills and Abilities:
  
  Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision; highly organized, self-motivated, and results driven; strong understanding of workflow and business objectives; ability to coordinate work flow; proficient in sewing current products and adapting to new products; advanced understanding of sewing machine fundamentals and minor maintenance; ability to operate and program sewing machines for detailed assembly; ability to distinguish colors of thread and fabric, grains and patterns;
  
  good hand-eye coordination, concentration, and attention to detail; basic math, reading, and communication skills; ability to manipulate small parts and use power hand tools while operating the sewing machine; flexibility to work overtime as needed; must be able to perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
