GENERAL

PURPOSE

As an entry level Operations Technician, you will assemble products and/or related parts in a manufacturing setting at a standard rate of work based on customer demand and lean manufacturing principles to satisfy the customer and to provide high quality products delivered in a timely manner. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Cross‑training in other departments to learn additional functions is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Gain up to 2 skill blocks according to the skill library.
  • Attach appropriate label and tags to product and packages.
  • Read, understand, communicate and interpret written and verbal instructions, work documentation, policies and practices, etc., which are written in English.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Complete required paperwork correctly to ensure record accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment according to 5S and department safety guidelines.
  • Participate in MKPS improvement activities within current department or other departments as appropriate.
  • Perform a minimum of 75% of the jobs in the department at the required rate (cycle time).
  • Rotate through the department work stations based on business need.
  • Check equipment and product as needed, report problems or issues regarding safety or quality to the department supervisor.
  • Have regular and predictable attendance based on scheduled hours.
  • Be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
  • Meet the listed requirements representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Education/

    Experience:

    one of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience that demonstrates performance competency.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Competent in basic math skills such as counting, adding, and subtracting.
  • Ability to work cooperatively within the team as well as with members of other teams to meet goals.
  • Demonstrated willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms for the duration of the shift.
  • Lift and move up to 10 lbs regularly, 25 lbs frequently, and 40 lbs occasionally.
  • Communicate and be able to see with or without correction.
