Maintenance Technician - Night Shift

Machine Specialties, LLC (MSI) is a leading contract machining and metal finishing company that designs and manufactures sophisticated, cost-effective solutions to meet our clients' most demanding challenges. Our company is located in Whitsett, NC, about 8 miles outside of Greensboro, NC.
This is a full‑time, non‑exempt, hourly position that reports to the Maintenance Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience with preventive maintenance practices and procedures to ensure safety, along with equipment reliability and longevity.
ShiftMonday – Thursday 5:00 pm to 5:00 am (15% shift premium)
Key Responsibilities- Conducting preventive maintenance tasks according to schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Prioritizing safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Diagnosing mechanical issues and troubleshooting equipment failures to identify root causes.
- Repairing or replacing defective parts and components using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts inventory.
- Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Efficiently managing tasks and prioritizing maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Effectively communicating with team members, supervisors, and vendors to coordinate maintenance activities, report issues, and request support or resources.
- Being flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, equipment requirements, and work environments.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment for maintenance and repair tasks, such as wrenches, power tools, and diagnostic instruments.
- Understanding basic electrical systems and being able to perform simple electrical repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements related to equipment maintenance and workplace safety.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and vendors.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail to effectively identify and resolve maintenance issues.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
- Proven successful experience in a similar work environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems commonly found in industrial settings.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to understand equipment specifications and troubleshoot issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent with additional mechanical training.
