Schedule: Night 3rd Shift
Pay rate: $26.65/hr
Essential Duties and Responsibilities3 to 5 years experience in an Extrusion Operator role. Foam Extrusion Experience with Propane or Butane used as a blowing agent is a plus. Operate equipment to produce finished goods to production specifications.
Understand and be able to safely STOP equipment during normal conditions and during an emergency. Set Machine up to SOC using the appropriate conditions.
- Use a computer system to set run conditions and adjust as necessary within SOC
- Perform Line start up and Line shut down
- Perform weekly preventative maintenance as outlined by the maintenance program
- Understand and safely operate multiple extruders
- Follow all training documents or standard operating procedures (SOP) to safely and efficiently operate the line
- Ability to use production reporting systems to fulfill job functions
- Ability to read and understand quality specifications and make adjustment to equipment to meet quality expectations of the company
- Ability to use static monitoring equipment to check static levels on an hourly basis and follow the defined escalation matrix to remedy issues as they arise
- Always safely operate lab equipment
- Understand all quality lab equipment and be able to operate and adjust as necessary to safely test foam samples
- Assist Process Engineer, Maintenance and Shift Supervisor in troubleshooting, process improvement, and product development trials
- Follow the production schedule as issued by production control
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and recycling practices in your work area
- Complete all required computer and paperwork
- Participate in scheduled Preventative Maintenance (PM) activities
- Operation of motorized handling devices including Lift truck, walk behind, core extractors, and electric pallet jack
- Wears all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Personal Food Safety (PFS):
Beard/Hair Net, hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes. Also wear any additional safety PPE as required
- Strong mechanical aptitude is desired
- Must be able to follow our safety guidelines
- High School diploma or equivalency
- Must have good communication skills both personal and via Email
- Must have the strong troubleshooting skills
- Must have good judgment with decision making in regards to Safety and Quality
- Ability to work additional overtime if required to get the job tasks completed, this includes hours before shift start time, beyond shift end time, weekends, and holidays if required by business need
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds overhead to a height of 72 inches repeatedly
