ASSISTANT OPERATOR II

• Assist the Sanding Operator in operating the sanding line and performing material handling duties.
• Accurately and efficiently operate 120 and 550 forklift operators in sanding operations.
• Coordinate the activities of forklift operators and assist them to ensure proper material processing.
• Coordinate product changeovers and identify material leaving the machinery, labeling it accordingly.
• Perform quality checks in accordance with customer specifications.
• Package finished pallets of material for shipment and assist with cleaning the finishing areas.
• Assist the Sanding Operator and other personnel in repairing or maintaining machinery.
• Communicate problems or ideas to the Sanding Team Leader.
• Observe safe work practices in compliance with the Company safety policy.
• Attend any job‑related training deemed necessary by supervision.
• Follow all established standard operating procedures and perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.

• High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
• Forklift experience preferred; the ability to obtain Forklift Certification is required.
• Read, write, and perform basic math calculations (addition and subtraction).
• Successful completion of all required on‑the‑job training.
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.

• Effective team member with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and perform general housekeeping duties.
• Must be able to sit and drive a forklift and wear hearing protection, eye protection, and steel‑toe shoes.
• Good oral and written communication skills to interact effectively with others in the immediate work unit.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
