Forklift Operator

Operate various size forklifts for loading/unloading brick to/from company and customer trucks (ranging in size from pickup trucks/trailers to tractor trailers, including flat bed and enclosed vans) as well as operating the forklifts in the yard and plant.

• Take new product off of packaging machines to the correct inventory lines on the storage yard
• Use hand/battery operated tools to repair damaged packages so they can be returned to inventory
• Learn the differences in products manufactured by sight so as to recognize possible quality issues and bring them to the supervisors attention and to avoid loading errors
• Perform various quality control duties such as building walls of manufactured products to gauge color consistency against a control panel
• Assist customer and company truck drivers in a professional manner
• Plan loads in an efficient manner; ensure loads are neatly placed on trailers
• Perform daily equipment safety checks/inspections; report concerns as identified
• Keep work area (yard) clean and neat daily
• All other duties as requested or assigned
• Work is primarily outdoors in all weather conditions

• Prioritize SAFETY first, then QUALITY and PRODUCTION
• Forklift experience required
• Must be willing to help fellow employees and work as a team member
• Must be willing and able to work overtime, as required
• Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, climb and lift 50 lbs.
