Creedmoor - North Carolina, USA

About Ontic Creedmoor

Our 100,000 sq ft Creedmoor facility brings together a broad mix of electronic, avionic and electro-mechanical aerospace capabilities, alongside several businesses within the Ontic Group.

From flight-control actuators and cockpit instrumentation to fire-protection systems and data recorders, the teams at Creedmoor support a diverse portfolio of products that perform critical functions across civil and military aircraft.

It’s a collaborative, fast-moving environment where engineering, manufacturing, quality and support teams work together to solve complex challenges. For people who like taking ownership, finding better ways to do things and seeing the impact of their work, there’s plenty of opportunity to make a difference.

The opportunity

As an Electronics Assembly & Test Technician at Ontic, you’ll be part of our build and test production team, assembling, testing and troubleshooting electro-mechanical products used across general, commercial and military aviation.

You’ll work with detailed technical documentation and specialized tools and test equipment to make sure finished products meet exacting quality and production standards. You’ll work across a variety of product lines and collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing colleagues to troubleshoot issues, support repairs and help introduce new products into production.

You’ll also have opportunities to expand your technical knowledge and support product transitions, which may include domestic travel to learn manufacturing processes for products transitioning into our Creedmoor operation.

What you’ll be doing
  • Assemble, inspect and test electronic and mechanical products, including wiring, coils, printed circuit boards and final-unit instruments, using approved documentation, tools and procedures.
  • Perform product testing using equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, frequency generators and multimeters to verify performance against specifications.
  • Troubleshoot, rework and repair units that do not pass standard testing, working closely with engineering colleagues to identify issues and implement solutions.
  • Perform soldering, wiring, crimping, fitting and other precision assembly activities, including work under magnification and with components requiring electrostatic discharge controls.
  • Complete and maintain accurate production documentation and records while following established manufacturing processes, quality requirements and production schedules.
  • Support new product introductions and product transitions, including domestic travel where required to learn manufacturing processes at vendor locations.
  • Maintain production and test equipment and contribute to continuous improvement, knowledge sharing and a safe, clean working environment.
What you’ll bring
  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar electronics or electro-mechanical assembly role, including soldering experience.
  • Experience working with electronic line-replaceable units containing printed circuit boards or modules, including through-hole or surface-mount components.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, schematic drawings, specifications, work orders and engineering documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination, with the ability to perform precision assembly work and troubleshoot units that fail standard testing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with the numeracy and literacy skills needed to perform basic calculations and evaluate test results against specification…
