Position Overview

The Marketing and Admissions Director is responsible for leading the facility’s marketing, sales, and admissions efforts with a strong focus on census growth, quality mix, referral development, and community relationships
.

This role will develop and lead a facility-level marketing strategy, build relationships with referral partners and community organizations, and coordinate the admissions process from initial referral through admission.

The ideal candidate is a strong relationship-builder and team leader who can develop effective strategies, identify growth opportunities, and motivate others to achieve shared goals. This position has an approximately 50% external business development focus and 50% internal development focus
.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive, team-based facility marketing plan focused on census growth and quality mix.

  • Analyze the local healthcare market, identify referral opportunities, and develop strategies to strengthen the facility’s competitive position.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, physicians, healthcare providers, community organizations, and other referral sources.

  • Conduct external sales and marketing calls to targeted referral sources and prospective partners.

  • Monitor census, referral activity, quality mix, and bed availability to support facility goals.

  • Maintain accurate referral and sales information using the facility’s referral management system.

  • Partner with the Administrator to develop and lead an Admissions Support Team consisting of department leaders and other key staff.

  • Coordinate with the Admissions Support Team to ensure timely completion of admissions paperwork, tours, insurance/payor verification, and other admission requirements.

  • Provide regular updates to the Admissions Support Team regarding marketing activity, referrals, and pending admissions.

  • Work closely with the Director of Nursing and Business Office Manager to evaluate prospective admissions and ensure appropriate placement.

  • Make admission recommendations to facility leadership based on clinical, financial, and operational considerations.

  • Coordinate with nursing, housekeeping, and other departments regarding room assignments, special needs, and preparations for new admissions.

  • Help ensure all required admission documentation and signatures are completed prior to admission.

  • Develop and support public relations initiatives, including community events, media outreach, press releases, and other opportunities to promote the facility.

  • Manage and support marketing initiatives such as website content, e-referrals, on-hold messaging, community outreach, and other company programs.

  • Track marketing and admissions results and adjust strategies as needed to achieve facility goals.

  • Represent the facility professionally and positively throughout the local community.

What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

  • At least 2 years of experience in sales or marketing with a demonstrated record of success; healthcare experience preferred.
