Wendell Baptist Church Wendell, North Carolina
WBC is looking for a full-time pastor to shepherd and lovingly direct the church and to explain God’s inerrant Word through faithful preaching.
Primary Responsibilities- Serve as the spiritual leader of the church, receiving and implementing the vision from the Lord regarding the ministries and the life of the church.
- Minister to the spiritual needs of the members. He will motivate, equip, and nurture the people of the church through example. He will preach and teach God’s word and exhibit concern and compassion for members of the church.
- Coordinate all aspects of the stated and special worship services and administer the ordinances.
- Lead the church in evangelism, fellowship, Bible study, and prayer.
- Serve as the administrative head of the church and will serve as an ex-officio member of all church organizations, departments, and teams.
- Hold and lead regular staff meetings to coordinate the various ministries of the church.
- Control the pulpit ministry. He will obtain a supply minister when he is away from the pulpit (including illness, revival, or vacation).
- Carry out hospital visits, minister to shut-ins, and visit and care for the sick and bereaved, with the active support of the Diaconate and other appropriate standing teams.
- Work with the church staff and diaconate to meet any other duties that may arise within the church.
- Must be a devout man loving God and the things of God.
- Must also be a man who can teach the word of God faithfully.
- Must hold the word of God in great respect and handle it with a clear conscience (Titus 1:9).
- Gifted in proclamation, preaching and teaching the word of God faithfully.
- Possess strong leadership skills for organizing, planning and vision casting.
- Called to pastoral care, including visitation and counseling.
- Strong track record of conducting himself at the highest standards, in the church and in the world.
- 5 or more years of pastoral experience.
- Completed a Masters of Divinity degree program or equivalent.
