Effective October 1, 2015, all new hires in positions subject to the State Human Resources Act will serve a 12‑month probationary period as defined by the North Carolina Office of State Human Resources.
The primary location is the main Cullowhee, NC campus. Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations, the Advancement Stewardship Coordinator will assist in maintaining best practices for donor stewardship, from fund communication to annual reporting, gift acknowledgements, and tribute reporting. The coordinator will collaborate with the Advancement Business Officer and other division staff to ensure WCU’s philanthropic gifts are stewarded at the highest level.
Responsibilities- Support and lead efforts ensuring donors have a complete picture of their giving and impact, including managing digital stewardship.
- Assist with gift receipting processes and answer calls to the main office line.
- Welcome guests to the Advancement Office.
- Manage parts of the gift agreement process, documenting donor gift intentions and accessing appropriate reports.
- Assist with the delivery of scholarship thank‑you letters to donors on a yearly basis.
- Support stewardship of giving society donors through membership fulfillment, philanthropic naming opportunities, campaign‑specific stewardship, and donor stewardship events.
- Serve as a project manager for annual reporting processes, ensuring timely report delivery and meeting donor expectations.
- Handle special projects assigned to achieve donor stewardship objectives.
- Assist in defining stewardship policies, procedures, and protocols and create toolkits for fundraisers.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, including Mail Merging; experience with the university’s scholarship donor portal, Banner Finance, Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge, and Microsoft 365.
Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Salary & BenefitsSalary range: $34,602 – $58,870. Anticipated hiring range: $46,500. Salary grade: 63.
