Job Summary
The RN Unit Manager at Mountain Ridge Health & Rehab is a full‑time, hourly position located in Black Mountain, North Carolina. This role is responsible for managing and overseeing the nursing unit, ensuring high‑quality patient care, and providing leadership and mentoring to the nursing staff.
Compensation & BenefitsThe RN Unit Manager position offers a competitive hourly salary of $36 to $43 per hour, paid semi‑monthly. In addition to the base salary, the role includes a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and educational assistance.
Responsibilities- Must possess the ability to work independently, and possess the skills and abilities to function in the capacity of a nurse or nurse aide when needed.
- Oversee and manage the nursing unit to ensure efficient operation and delivery of high‑quality patient care.
- Develop and implement appropriate staffing schedules, taking into consideration patient needs and budget constraints.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to the nursing staff, including conducting performance evaluations and providing ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve patient care and staff performance.
- Act as a liaison between the nursing staff, patients, families, and physicians to address any concerns or issues.
- Participate in the budgeting process and manage the unit's expenses within budget constraints.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records and documentation.
- Active RN license in the state of North Carolina.
- Minimum of 2‑3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of nursing best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and staff members.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to nursing homes and long‑term care facilities.
- Computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical record systems.
