About the Position

Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg
Sign‑On Bonus: $20,000
Schedule: Night shift, rotating weekends

Rutherford Regional Health System, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Registered Nurse who will deliver high‑quality medical‑surgical care while prioritizing patient well‑being.

• Completes initial and ongoing assessments
• Assessments include physical, psychosocial, environmental, self‑care abilities, educational, age‑appropriate, cultural and discharge planning needs
• Performs plan‑of‑care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatment
• Documents patient care given
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family
• Assists patients with activities of daily living: personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, spiritual/psychosocial support needs
• Evaluates learning needs of patient/family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient
• Supervises others; assists with orientation and training

• Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi‑state compact license)
• Associate’s degree in Nursing required;
  Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 1‑3 years of acute‑care experience within the past 3 years preferred

• Strong critical‑thinking skills
• Decisive judgment; ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Handle with care within 4 months of hire
