UNC Health Care Hillsborough Campus is a community hospital which is an extension of UNC Medical Center focusing on elective surgical programs. The 163-bed facility combines a community hospital culture with the innovative procedures and care for which the UNC Medical Center is known. The Hillsborough Hospital has achieved accreditation by The Joint Commission's disease specific program for their Total Hip and Knee Replacement service.
This accreditation is the result of many years of work by the inter-professional team caring for these patients. The Hillsborough Campus has also received the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Experience and ranks in the top five percent in the nation for patient experience. The Clinical Nurse I
- New Grad. RN, position is for the 25-bed surgical unit. This unit provides acute inpatient services for the surgical patient population which includes Joint, Spine, Urology, and General Surgery admissions as well as medical overflow patients. We are looking for an experienced, energetic, patient-centered team member with a positive attitude. This unit fosters an environment that values diversity, teamwork, open communication, while proving exceptional service.
This is a 36 hour/week, day shift position (7a-7:30pm), with flexible self-scheduling. This opportunity is for a new grad nurse who is currently in their final semester of nursing school or who have graduated from nursing school within the past 12 months of the anticipated start date and have worked as an RN for less than 6 months. It is expected that applicants will have a nursing (RN) license that allows them to practice in the state of North Carolina prior to the first day of employment.

New Graduate Nurses are part of the UNC Medical Center Residency Program (NRP). This program is a yearlong program supporting transition from academia to practice for new graduate nurses. The program is layered on top of orientation to provide mentored clinical relationships which support development as a professional nurse.
