Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Haywood Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant for a 22‑bed PCU/Telemetry unit. The role supports patients with respiratory failure and cardiac conditions in a dynamic environment with advanced cardiac monitoring technology.

Schedule

3‑12 Night shifts (7 a.m.‑7 p.m.) with rotating weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating, ambulation).
  • Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
  • Maintains patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly.
Qualifications
  • Current state Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within six months of hire.
  • One year of CNA experience preferred; ASLS certification preferred.
