Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU

Sign‑on Bonus: $15,000-$20,000 sign‑on bonus available to eligible candidates.
Where You Will WorkAt Wilkes Medical Center, our 8‑bed ICU provides intensive, specialized care for critically ill patients who need constant monitoring and support for life‑threatening conditions. It is staffed by highly skilled medical professionals and equipped with specialized technology like ventilators, cardiac monitors, and IV lines to support vital functions. Our goal is to provide quality, life‑saving care and support to patients and families during challenging times.
Our low nurse‑to‑patient ratio and out‑of‑staffing charge nurse ensure quality care and exceptional customer service.
- One year of med‑surgical nursing preferred.
- Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire for Adult Critical Care.
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Use evidence‑based practice, clinical decision‑making, compassion, communication, and leadership to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
Wilkes Medical Center is part of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Health. It offers a 130‑bed rural community hospital with a 10‑bed skilled nursing unit and wide inpatient and outpatient services, including a state‑of‑the‑art critical care unit. Located in North Wilkesboro, NC, it is approximately 60 miles from Winston‑Salem and 40 miles from Boone.
