Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical ICU

Winston‑Salem, NC, United States

This position is Sign‑on Bonus eligible. In addition to the sign‑on bonus, this position is eligible for a relocation bonus if current residency is outside the designated distance to facility. New teammates at Atrium Health are eligible for robust benefits packages and paid time off.

Where You Will Work

The Medical ICU is an adult 32‑bed unit overseeing the care of critically ill patients of all kinds including but not limited to pulmonary disorders and infections, end‑stage renal disease, gastrointestinal bleeds, sepsis, etc. One 24‑bed unit with a nursing station between each 2‑patient assignment. One 8‑bed open‑bay unit with a nursing station facing eight semi‑private rooms. MICU nurses are experienced in managing the treatment of critically ill patients with complex illnesses which are simultaneously affecting various body systems.

Expectations

We’re Looking For

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS are required within 6 months of hire
• 1‑2 years RN experience preferred

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

• Using evidence‑based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
