American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department requiring 3 years of ER experience and multiple advanced certifications.
Requirements- Active NC or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 3 years of ER experience required
- BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
- NRP and TNCC certifications preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must pass Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
- No background or license actions within the past 12 months
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration
- Experience managing cardiac dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction preferred
- Experience with arterial line management preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Prior travel experience required
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Every other weekend required
- Float required between both Betsy Johnson and Central Harnett campuses as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
- Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital setting with 733 staffed beds
- Uses Epic charting system
- Provide emergency care across general adult and pediatric populations including psychiatric, overdose, and suicidal patients
- Administer emergency medications and manage cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia response
- Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG readings
- Scrub color requirement is royal blue and white
- Call-offs require makeup shifts as determined by the department
- Maximum RTO of 4 days, with holiday RTO limited to one major holiday
- Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a travaler
- Candidates may extend contracts once on day shift or twice on night shift, then must wait six months before reapplying
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of Cape Fear Valley Medical Center are not eligible
- First-time travelers are accepted
