Travel RN - Emergency Dept

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring 3+ years of ER experience and ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, and NIH certifications.

• Active NC state or compact RN license required (pending license not accepted)
• Minimum 3 years of ER experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: NRP, TNCC
• Epic EMR experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience managing psychiatric, suicidal, and drug overdose patients
• Experience with emergency medications and administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, 12-lead EKG/ECG, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Arterial line management experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• No background or license actions within the past 12 months
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

• Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital setting with 733 staffed beds
• Works in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00), 36 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Weekend requirement of every other weekend
• Holiday coverage required
• Float requirement between both Betsy Johnson and Central Harnett campuses as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Provide emergency nursing care across a combined adult and pediatric ER population
• Must pass the Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance for this specialty
• Modules must be completed prior to start, estimated 4-10 hours
• Scrub color requirement: royal blue and white
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of Cape Fear Valley Medical Center are not eligible
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• System has a 2-contract limit with one extension allowed, then a 6-month break required before returning
• Maximum of 4 days RTO permitted, with additional RTO subject to manager discretion
• Only one major holiday may be requested off
• Call-off policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week assignment before affecting guaranteed hours
