Position: Veterinarian- Veterinary Hospital at the Lake, Up to $50k Sign On Bonus!

Practice:

Veterinary Hospital at the Lake provides full-service small animal care to Sherrills Ford, NC and the surrounding communities.

We are also home to the region’s only referral specialty center for small animal reproduction. Our board-certified specialists in reproduction, called theriogenologists, partner with our breeder clients and their primary care veterinarians to provide their pets with expertise and compassionate care in male and female reproduction and neonatology.

More about the Role:

Our unique practice has a great opportunity offering the full complement of theriogenology services regionally, in addition to general medicine & surgery locally.

Our professional team consists of two boarded theriogenologist and one part-time general practicing associate. Our hospital would be great for DVMs of varying interests as our services provided include a wide array of preventative medicine, wellness care, dentistry, and surgery. We have a wonderful work environment and a leadership team to support your goals. Our staff is very friendly, collaborative, and considerate.

We take pride in our long-standing and dedicated clientele that allows us to practice quality medicine.

We are excited to add another Associate Veterinarian to our team!
Up to $50k sign-on bonus!

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/

Qualifications:
  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
