FAR Inspections, based in Reno, NV, has been in business for over 9 years and seeks highly motivated independent contractors to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. The role offers predictable full‑time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule.

• Most common type of inspection should only take 5–6 minutes.
• Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in a mobile app.
• Be able to spend extended periods driving, making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

• Computer with an internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you pay for your own gas).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of $30–$40 per hour.

Depending on your county (urban or rural) you will complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2 to 30 hours per week. Lower‑volume counties have higher rates; higher‑volume counties have lower rates. The work is consistent month‑to‑month, and you can earn more as you become established, have greater availability, or cover a larger territory.

No additional mileage reimbursement is provided above the flat fee per inspection.
