Core Responsibilities
  • Ensure customers have a positive shopping experience by greeting and assisting them courteously.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and proper merchandise presentation.
  • Assist customers at the register, answer questions, and provide prompt assistance.
  • Follow all safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and support store security initiatives.
  • Perform cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing high‑touch areas.
  • Control daily inventory processes such as sizing, recovery, and receipt of new merchandise.
  • Adhere to all cash handling policies and maintain accuracy with bankable tenders.
  • Participate in loss prevention activities, including the Shortage Highway and Store Protection Specialist protocols.
  • Represent the Ross brand consistently and professionally at all times.
  • Demonstrate integrity, safeguard confidential information, and uphold company policies.

Qualifications & Special Skills Required
  • Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership.
  • Basic mathematical calculation skills commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
  • Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
  • Stand, walk, and move throughout the store up to 100% of working time.
  • Bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
  • Push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
  • Stockroom shifts may require pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 20 pounds.
