Delivery Driver
Advance Auto Parts is seeking a reliable Delivery Driver to provide safe and timely delivery of parts to professional customers and assist in creating a positive customer experience.
Job DescriptionPick, stage, and deliver parts to pro customers, manage returns and cores, distribute sales flyers, collect credit accounts, and maintain strong relationships with Main Street and National Pro customers. Support upselling, cross‑selling and store cleanliness while ensuring accurate inventory knowledge.
Position Responsibilities- Pick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customers
- Pick up returns and cores
- Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
- Daily collection of credit accounts
- Build and maintain relationships with Main Street and National Pro customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveries
- Assist in upselling and cross‑selling products to increase average transaction value
- Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lot
- General stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle counts
- Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
- Engage with walk‑in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Safe driving and navigation ability
- Ability to use delivery board system
- Friendly and persuasive communication
- Ability to locate and stock parts (safety knowledge and skills)
- Operating inventory systems (back stock) and store equipment
- Sales aptitude and customer service orientation
- Ability to identify customer needs and recommend solutions
Job Skills
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and leadership
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedure manuals
- Use basic math accurately
- Work an assortment of days, evenings and weekends as needed
- Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
- Willingness to learn about new products and sales techniques
- Automotive parts experience is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
The employee will predominantly be walking or standing, frequently lifting up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance. Additional requirements include hearing, speaking, handling items, and reaching with hands and arms.
Work EnvironmentTypically inside a store with occasional outdoor exposure to weather. Potential contact with moving mechanical parts, high places, chemicals, electrical shock, vibration, and moderate noise levels.
