Samaritan's Purse is seeking an on‑call Security Officer to serve at our International Headquarters in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. In this role you will provide coverage for our full‑time Security Officers and protect the safety and well‑being of all persons and property at the site.

• Shifts range from 8–12 hours, with opportunities for 1‑shift coverage or a full 3‑5 day shift.

• Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
• Conduct yourself as a security professional at all times, creating an atmosphere to deter undesirable activity
• Greet all staff and visitors whenever practical to maintain a consistent visible presence
• Screen pedestrian and vehicular traffic for authorization to enter the premises
• Operate various equipment, such as card access, fire and burglar alarms, video cameras, and ministry vehicles
• Report hazardous conditions and follow all call‑in procedures in case of emergency
• Identify threatening individuals and alert local law enforcement
• Be familiar with all Samaritans Purse facilities, policies, procedures, and regulations that affect the safety and security of all occupants
• Monitor activity across campus through regular physical patrols and the use of video surveillance
• Control access to campus during non‑business hours; open/close and secure all buildings as scheduled
• Document all noteworthy activity in the shift log or appropriate incident report
• All other duties as assigned

• Basic Law Enforcement Training and minimum 3 years experience as Law Enforcement Officer or equivalent, required
• Must be eligible to complete and pass any required training and certifications
• Basic keyboarding and computer skills, strongly preferred
• Motivated self‑starter; sees a need and takes initiative
• Trustworthy and mature
• Patient when tasks are routine, but quick on their feet to respond to a crisis
• Fluency in English, required
