Auto Mechanic

The Auto Mechanic must be a highly motivated, team player who is willing to help repair and maintain our fleet of company vehicles. In this position, the Light Duty Mechanic III will evaluate and verify concerns, identify additional needed repair and services, ensure that all repairs and services are completed timely, test drive vehicles, and stay current on all trainings: ASE, factory, diagnostic tools and safety.

You will report to the Shop Foreman which may be reassigned as workload changes.

The duties of the Auto Mechanic as determined by SunEnergy1 standards are to include, but are not limited to:

• Performs inspection, maintenance and repairs on vehicles, such as trucks, trailers, etc. Responsible for diesel engines, gas engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical troubleshooting, steering, cooling systems, etc.
• Keeps track of all maintenance and work completed via phone, email, text, and hard copy paperwork.
• Conduct routine maintenance on vehicles such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
• Weld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools.
• Fabricate needed parts or items from sheet metal or other materials.
• Must have air, hand, and other tools required on a regular basis. SunEnergy1 will provide specialty tools.

• Ability to work in extreme outdoor environments (example: hot sun, cold, wet weather).
• Full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
• Ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time during an 8-12 hour day.
• Ability to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds of weight safely without assistance throughout assigned workday.
• Ability to travel and stay overnight based on job location.

• Must display a positive attitude dedicated towards achieving results for the company as well as providing quality service and accuracy.
• Must maintain a clean and professional appearance and attitude at all times while at work, while representing or traveling for the company.
• Responsible for daily upkeep of your work area and company equipment.
• Must be flexible with work hours and be able to work overtime as needed.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed and turned in daily.
