Diesel Mechanic

Overview

As a Diesel Mechanic at WM, you will maintain and repair diesel equipment, ensuring safety and reliability across our fleet. This position offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

• Starting salary $28–$30 per hour
• Sign‑on bonus of $5,000
• Tool allowance $400 quarterly
• Boot allowance $150 twice a year

• Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
• No weekends
• Repair/maintenance shop at Indian Trail, NC hauling site

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on various vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Conduct safety checks and maintain a safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Complete required paperwork and document parts usage and repair times.
• Assist senior mechanics with project work and review Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Age 18 or older.
• Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical exam.

Physically demanding work including frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing. Exposure to cuts, burns, chemicals, dirt, odor, noise, and weather extremes. Work both inside garage and outside conditions.
