Job Description SummaryThe Quarry Laborer is responsible for general laborer duties at quarry as instructed by foreman.
Requirements- Perform daily pre‑shift inspection and submit a repair report if needed.
- Inspect equipment and safety items required at the end of each shift.
- Grease equipment as needed during pre‑shift and at the end of each shift.
- Make normal operating adjustments to equipment. Job requires cleaning and washing of vehicle.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co‑workers and supervisors at all times.
- Be flexible with schedule changes, location changes, or shift time changes; overtime work required.
- Report to the assigned job site and be ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Maintain attendance according to company attendance policy to ensure crew efficiency.
- Strictly adhere to company safety requirements and procedures.
- Work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or supervisors with other quarry duties as required.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by MSHA.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently under a variety of working conditions as instructed by foreperson.
- Understand and follow verbal instructions.
- Effectively communicate verbally.
- Work effectively both independently and in a team, with attention to detail.
- Climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, lifting, stretching, sitting, driving, and shifting gears; pulling.
- Stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch; talk and hear.
- May require sitting for extended periods of time.
- Use hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers.
- Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and focus.
- Lift occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Adapt and work in all weather conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock or burn; noise level may be moderate to loud.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
- High school education or GED preferred but not required.
