Job Summary

National Pipe & Plastics, one of the largest PVC pipe producers in North America, is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician. The ideal candidate in this role will perform a wide range of duties in an industrial manufacturing environment. This maintenance mechanic will be responsible for ensuring all equipment is operating safely and efficiently by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following diagrams, reading operations manuals and troubleshooting malfunctions.

The address of the facility is 9609 W Market St in Colfax, NC 27235. There is a $2000 sign-on bonus for this position with the first $1000 paid after the first 3 months of continuous employment and another $1000 paid after 6 months of continuous employment.

Job Responsibilities

Installing and assembling new machines and equipment

Maintaining apreventative maintenanceschedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery

Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing machine failures

Installing replacement parts such as vacuum pumps, hydraulic pumps, and hydraulic hoses

Usingpower toolsand differenthand toolsto complete assigned maintenance tasks and work orders

Following industry best practices, SOP's, LOTO procedures, and other safety guidelines

logging performed maintenance work through either paper documentation or a CMMS

Job Requirements

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent

Experience with Cincinnati Milacron machines preferred

Experience with Theason Extruders preferred

Strong mechanical aptitude

Proven work experience with electrical and mechanical components

At least one year of industrial maintenance experience preferred

Ability to read/write simple instructions and communicate effectively with team members

Knowledge of mechanical systems and ability to diagnose and fix problems

Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, air and fluid valves, solenoids, motors, starters, breakers, pumps, material flow, limit switches, welding, and torches is a plus

Knowledge of plastics extrusion processing is a plus

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. periodically throughout the day
