Designated Supervisor and General Manager
POSITION SUMMARYThe Recreation Attendant (RA) assists the Recreation Lead in planning, organizing, executing, and leading recreation activities at the campground such as arts and crafts, games, sports, dramatics, music, social activities, hobbies, and themed weekends. This highly visible, customer‑centric role requires strong skills and a passion for creating a fun, inclusive environment for guests of all ages.
SPECIFIC DUTIES- Help plan and prepare events from start to finish, including creating a detailed events calendar.
- Develop supply lists and coordinate with the Recreation Lead as needed.
- Photograph activities and obtain necessary photo‑release documentation.
- Partner with marketing to produce engaging social‑media posts.
- Coordinate and prepare all food, beverage items, equipment, awards, and entertainment for events.
- Maintain and clean recreation equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe, clean, and debris‑free.
- Greet new arrivals, introduce them to activities, explain rules, and encourage participation.
- Explain activity rules and instructions for varying skill levels.
- Enforce safety rules and administer basic first aid when necessary.
- Set up and break down equipment daily.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, customer service, quality, and cleanliness.
- Promote a positive work environment that aligns with KOA’s culture, mission, values, and goals.
- Engaging recreation activities for guests of all ages.
- Clean, orderly recreation equipment and spaces.
- Active promotion and participation in campground recreation activities.
- Fluent in English.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Basic knowledge of recreational activities.
- Comfortable working in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments.
- Motivated, goal‑oriented, and results‑driven.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Lift up to 50 pounds; lift and carry 25 pounds occasionally; lift and carry 10 pounds regularly.
- Flex, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and move safely over uneven terrain.
- Work inside and outdoors in various climates.
