Kisinger Campo & Associates, Corp. (KCA) is seeking a Mid-Level Hydraulics Engineer for one of our South Carolina offices located in Columbia, North Myrtle Beach, or North Charleston.
As a Mid-Level Hydraulics Engineer, you will play a key role in the technical development and production of drainage and stormwater design for transportation projects. This position is highly technical and analysis-focused, offering the opportunity to independently perform a wide range of hydraulic and hydrologic engineering tasks while continuing to grow under the guidance of senior technical staff.
You will be responsible for preparing drainage studies, hydraulic calculations, stormwater management analyses, culvert and closed drainage system designs, floodplain evaluations, erosion and sediment control plans, and supporting documentation for permitting and environmental compliance. Working within DOT criteria, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, you will apply engineering principles to develop practical, cost-effective drainage solutions that support project goals and minimize environmental impacts.
The ideal candidate is a strong technical contributor who can independently execute most aspects of hydraulic design and analysis while recognizing when more complex engineering challenges require collaboration with senior engineers. You will regularly coordinate with roadway, structures, environmental, and survey teams to ensure hydraulic considerations are appropriately integrated into project development.
This role is best suited for an engineer who enjoys technical problem-solving, performing detailed analyses, and developing robust drainage solutions for transportation infrastructure projects. Opportunities to mentor junior staff, contribute to technical discussions, and expand project responsibilities will be available as experience and expertise grow.
