Activity/Member Assistant

Join our newest location as an Activity/Member Assistant in North Charleston, SC!

Elite Home Care, Day Centers & Transportation is looking for a compassionate and energetic Member Assistant to join our team in Charleston, SC. If you have a passion for working with the elderly and young adults with various cognitive and/or physical disabilities in a supportive and engaging environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Full‑time, Monday‑Friday (open 7:30am‑4:00pm). No weekends or holidays for flexibility. Competitive hourly pay. Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits (available after 30 days). Paid time off. Friendly and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Activity Director in implementing engaging activities, including arts, crafts, exercise, spiritual practices, music, games, and life skills.
  • Provide hands‑on personal care (ADL assistance) to members when needed, including feeding, toileting, ambulation, and transfers.
  • Foster a positive and interactive environment by engaging with members and their families.
  • Set up and clean activity areas to ensure a safe and organized space. Assist members with activities and encourage participation.
  • Redirect behaviors as needed to promote a supportive atmosphere and promote member independence positively.
  • Monitor and document any changes in client behavior or health, reporting to the RN Administrator.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with young adult disabled individuals.
  • Dependable with reliable transportation and/or a valid driver’s license.
  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an outgoing personality.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Clean background check and drug test.
  • Physically able to assist members with personal care tasks (toileting, ambulation, feeding, etc.).
