George Consulting is seeking a Network Engineer with an understanding in working in Agile Project management and/or Development Operations environments and to support a Department of Defense research lab.

The Network Engineer responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Design and implement computer and information networks (physical and virtual), such as local area networks (LAN/VLAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks.
• Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning.
• Configure and maintain Cisco VPN enabled network.
• Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.
• Able to work independently with limited direction and be self‑motivated.
• Able to work with other contractor teammates and customers daily.
• Able to work closely with customers to ensure deliverables meet their expectations and arrive in a timely manner.
• Attend and actively participate in team meetings.
• Apply software patches to network assets in response to and to mitigate vulnerability findings.

• Possess an active security clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
• Citrix hypervisor experience (or other VMware experience).
• Network Attached Storage (NAS) knowledge/experience.
• Familiar with various Firewall configurations (iptables or similar) and experience with implementing.
• Experience in computer system administration, especially Linux (Debian, Ubuntu etc.).
