Overview
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - Children's Ambulatory Center role at MUSC Children's Health.
Responsibilities- Provide anesthesia care to a wide variety of patients from pre-term neonates to geriatrics, in consultation with the attending anesthesiologist.
- Administer appropriate anesthetics in accordance with standards of practice.
- Operate anesthesia machines and related equipment; assist in transport of patients; maintain patient records.
- Participate in teaching activities within the department and in continuing education programs.
- Demonstrate professionalism in performance of duties and provide resuscitative care as indicated.
- Graduated from a Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Education Programs approved program and certified, or recertified by the National Board on Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.
- Insurable by MUSC’s medical malpractice insurer for required limits; current competency in clinical privileges; proficient in operation of anesthesia equipment.
- Current knowledge of anesthesia practice and safety in a healthcare facility; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with surgeons, residents, anesthesia personnel, and nursing staff.
- For hires after March 1, 2019: master’s degree or higher with concentration in Nurse Anesthesia.
- Current licensure as an APRN eligible to practice in South Carolina; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.
