We are currently partnering with a leading international manufacturing company headquartered in Europe. The company is expanding its existing U.S. operations in North Charleston and is seeking a skilled Quality Supervisor to join its team.
In this role, you will oversee the activities of the quality department while developing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system. You will play a pivotal role in helping shape the company’s future success.
This is an onsite role in North Charleston, SC.
Essential Duties & Functions- Drafts and recommends procedures to establish or improve quality standards, standard repairs, process controls, and inspection methods.
- Conducts or assists with performance and failure analysis of defective products or materials; identifies, recommends, or executes corrective actions.
- Authority to review and disposition nonconforming products only after discussing the problem with the programming department and receiving authorization from the customer for acceptance of the product.
- Collaborates with customers and other stakeholders to identify and resolve problems with delivered products.
- Analysis of the root cause of issues occurring with parts, raised by customers or internally.
- Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system and any other certifications or regulations required either by the customer or the industry.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and technological advances in the applicable industry and in the quality control field.
- Update KPI's monthly and communicate the status of the organization to the President of the company in the management review meeting.
- Drafts and maintains standard operating procedures, manuals, and documentation for the quality management system.
- Analyzes quality control test results, offers feedback or requests improvements, and interprets test results to production management and staff.
- Monitors and periodically reports on production quality, nonconformance, trends, and underlying causes of defects in products or processes to management and staff.
- Ceases production when serious product defects or risks arise.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, highly preferred
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and production quality management
- Experience with quality management systems and any other certifications similar
- Ability to read customer drawings
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of quality control standards and methodology.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Supervisory and leadership skills.
