Position Overview:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking talented individuals for a Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Quality Specialist to support our Quality team in North Charleston, SC.

Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.
Must submit documented evidence of certification at time of application submission.

Position Responsibilities:

• Performs setup for specialized non-destructive test or measurement equipment
• Performs tests or inspections and collects data
• Documents, analyzes and communicates results and assists with corrective action recommendations
• Utilizes technical competencies to provide feedback on adverse trends
• Responsible for non-destructive testing and acceptance of repairs to company products
• Conducts on-the-job training (OJT)
• Adheres to Boeing policies, processes and major inspection methods procedures

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Current or prior NAS
  410 or equivalent certified Level 2 in Ultrasonic Testing; must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review
• Current or prior NAS
  410 or equivalent certified Level 2 in Eddy Current Testing; must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review
• Willing to work variable shifts, including weekend overtime rotations and occasional shift overtime
• Capable of working in confined spaces
• 3+ years of experience in NDI (non-destructive inspection) or NDT (non-destructive test)
• 3+ years of experience inspecting parts, components, assemblies, or units

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Current or prior NAS
  410 or equivalent certified Level 2 in Penetrant and/or Magnetic Particle and/or Radiography Testing; must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review
• Able to work from heights up to 55 feet
• Experience analyzing and interpreting Ultrasonic C-scans
• Digital radiography, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle experience
• Able to fit through a 10'' X 18'' oval opening
• Experience inspecting composite material
• 3+ years of experience writing NDT procedures and techniques
• Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies

This position is for a variable shift. Variable shift means you will be placed on a shift at the time of hire based on business needs at that time. You will remain on that shift until re-evaluation is needed.
