Description

The Service Technician will be responsible for providing service, maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting and diagnostics on access control equipment and IP-based video systems. This includes electrified and non-electrified locks, card readers, ancillary door devices, IP and analog cameras, head-end video recording devices, wired and wireless systems, and intercom systems. The technician must be highly proactive, skilled, and consistently perform to core values.

• Drive to commercial client sites with a company‑issued vehicle to perform service, repair, troubleshoot, and detect issues in access control equipment and IP‑based video security systems.
• Troubleshoot system installations, identify issues, and apply effective resolutions consistent with company installation standards.
• Ensure physical security systems are operable and comply with applicable building codes.
• Document tracking of service‑related issues.
• Use hand and power tools, analog and digital test equipment, and CCTV testing devices safely.
• Read and understand electrical schematics, CAD drawings, and related documents for low‑voltage applications.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Provide phone and online remote diagnostic support.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Management.

• 2‑3 years experience servicing commercial electronic security systems: access control, video management, intrusion detection, and fire systems/alarms.
• Ability to be on‑call on a rotational basis for emergency service calls.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical and electronic aptitude.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lb and working on ladder heights up to 16 ft.
• Valid state driver’s license with at least one year of driving experience and a clean driving record.
• High school degree, vocational school, or equivalent required.
• Positive customer service; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal direction.
• Understanding of Windows operating systems and overall IT network topology.
• Highly proactive and skilled individual, consistently maintaining performance to core values.

This position operates Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, mainly at customer sites in Beaufort County, with travel to Charleston or Savannah possible. Primary work will be with Beaufort County school systems. This is a contract‑to‑hire position based out of Beaufort, South Carolina.

This is a contract‑to‑hire position based out of North Charleston, SC.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 – $38.00 /hr.
