Base pay: $20.00/hr – $20.00/hr
Position SummaryReporting to the Collection Management Librarian, the Circulation Library Associate ensures smooth daily operations at the Circulation Desk and Learning Commons in the Boxer Library. Key duties include circulating library materials, assisting users with technology, supporting collection maintenance, performing general space upkeep, and collaborating with the library team to deliver efficient service.

Responsibilities- Retrieve and check out materials; perform basic inventory; create and update patron records; answer website questions; troubleshoot links.
- Facilitate library study room reservations; assist users with printing and troubleshooting; escalating printer issues to appropriate parties.
- Support Collection Management Librarian in shelving, shifting, inventory projects, and updating Circulation Desk policy documentation.
- General maintenance of the library environment: clean dry‑erase boards, reboot/troubleshoot computers & printers, return furniture, perform daily space counts, monitor Donation Station and Snack Zone, submit work orders to campus departments.
- Connect library users with appropriate team members.
- Contribute to the development of informational materials such as handouts, posters, and guides.
- Communicate and collaborate with the library team in committees and work groups.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must achieve satisfactory results from a background check.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer and software skills.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with co‑workers, supervisors, and library users.
- Flexibility to handle multiple or unexpected tasks and patrons simultaneously.
- Strong verbal, written, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and follow instructions.
- Ability to thrive in a team‑based environment while working independently when required.
- Experience working in a library environment.
- Experience providing front‑line service to users, customers, or clients (e.g., retail, clerical).
- Library Technical Assistant (LTA) Certificate.
- Current enrollment in a graduate‑level library science program.
Limited physical effort is required; light lifting of less than 20 lbs. and pushing rolling carts. Selected candidate must possess the mental and physical capabilities to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
