Payroll Associate

• Internal tickets communicating with outside tax vendors, testing, and attending meetings
• Work on tax notices, work with tax providers, power of attorneys, and third‑party authorizations
• Support backend payroll processes or activities after payroll has been processed

• High school diploma with at least 2‑3 years payroll tax experience
• Strong payroll tax processing experience
• Multi‑state tax experience
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) proficiency
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Attention to detail; ensuring all project aspects are thoroughly considered and executed
• Solid foundation of payroll taxes—federal, state, and FICA
• Payroll tax filing experience
• Fast‑paced work environment experience
• Project and testing experience
• Self‑motivation and consistency

• Healthcare Insurance: Eligible employees and dependents receive coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, with eligibility beginning the first day of the calendar month following 60 days of continuous full‑time employment. Premiums are subsidized by Synectics.
• Dental Insurance: Eligible employees and dependents receive coverage through Met Life, with eligibility beginning the first day of the calendar month following 60 days of continuous full‑time employment.
• Vision Insurance: Eligible employees receive coverage through VSP, with eligibility beginning the first day of the calendar month following 60 days of continuous full‑time employment.
• 401(k) Plan: Synectics offers all employees aged 21 or older the opportunity to invest in the 401(k) Plan on the first enrollment date that is at least 30 days after employment begins (January 1, April 1, July 1, or October 1).
• Technical Certification Bonus: Employees may receive a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification related to their current position. Only one bonus per calendar year per employee and only for current active employees; awarded 90 days after successful completion documentation is received.
